Greater St. Louis, Inc. statement on Missouri HB 1579, a bill that would incentivize research and development activity
Tracy Henke, Chief Policy Officer of Greater St. Louis, Inc. and President of its public policy initiative ChamberSTL, issued the following statement after the Missouri House Economic Development Committee unanimously approved HB 1579, a bill introduced in the Missouri House that would establish a research & development (R&D) tax credit in Missouri. The legislation, sponsored by Representative Don Mayhew, divides a $10 million credit equally between large businesses and small, women- and minority-owned businesses.
“Last week, the House Economic Development Committee unanimously approved legislation that would make Missouri a more attractive state for manufacturing and entrepreneurship. This legislation advances the priorities of the STL 2030 Jobs Plan by promoting inclusive economic growth.
