St. Louis Board of Aldermen Passage of Bike Lane and Bridge Construction Bill (BB 164) Passage
Greater St. Louis, Inc. CEO Jason Hall issued the following statement today in response to the St. Louis Board of Aldermen passing Alderwoman Christine Ingrassia’s bike lane and bridge construction bill (BB 164) with a unanimous vote.
“Greater St. Louis, Inc. is committed to strengthening the core of our metro, as called for in the STL 2030 Jobs Plan, as demonstrated through efforts such as the Downtown Engagement and Public Safety Initiative, real estate revitalization, and collaborative work to improve pedestrian-scale infrastructure.
“We want to applaud the Board of Alders for the unanimous passage today of legislation authorizing development of new bike lanes on Tucker Boulevard, helping to redesign and activate our streets for a dynamic bike, pedestrian, and transit network, one of the main goals of Design Downtown STL, the official plan for Downtown St. Louis.
“These critical investments will make our entire metro more attractive for talent and investment. This bold action from our public sector partners further demonstrates that our metro is taking action to shape a new future based on community-shaped plans.”
