Upholding Dr. King’s Ideals for Advocacy and Commitment to Inclusive Growth

January 17, 2022
Martin Luther King

St. Louis Business and Civic Leaders,

Today, we pause to reflect on the life and life’s work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. At Greater St. Louis, Inc., we have worked to uphold the ideals for which Dr. King advocated by committing to inclusive growth as our north star so that everyone in our region has equitable access to the same opportunities to thrive, regardless of their zip code or the color of their skin.

While some progress has been made, there is, however, much work still before us.

On this day and throughout the year, our commitment is to build a region where every person has the ability, opportunity, and equitable access to participate in our growth. From the bank to the ballot box, from the classroom to the boardroom, we want to ensure that the table is big enough for everyone to claim their seat.

While today our team is taking a day to reflect, we are also focusing our time looking forward to how we can work as one region, speaking with one voice to drive an agenda focused on inclusive growth that reaches every community and every person in our metro. We appreciate your ongoing partnership in this work and look forward to seeing more doors to opportunity open wide so that all our people can follow their dreams.

Thanks for your partnership and support in this effort.

Respectfully yours,
