ICL Invests $18M in St. Louis’ Growing Food and Agtech Sector

Yesterday, global specialty-minerals company ICL reconfirmed its commitment to the St. Louis region as its U.S. headquarters with the opening of its latest production facility in South St. Louis City. At full capacity, the new, 10,000-square-foot plant will produce more than 15 million pounds of plant-based meat substitute. The Tel Aviv-based company’s $18 million investment will expand both its global Food Specialties portfolio and its focus on developing healthier and more sustainable food products.

ICL employs nearly 800 people in the U.S., more than 300 of whom work in the St. Louis region at the company’s corporate offices in Creve Coeur, its research and innovation hub in Webster Groves, and its production campus in Carondelet.
